sore ini di ubud sepulang mandi dan cuci baju
bersama para kera teman temanku
di pancuran air hutan monkey forest
aku singgah sejenak di kaki lima sahabatku
mencoba satu satu
kacamata trendy warna warni


yang dijual sahabatku pada turis
saat itu kutemukan
sebuah rahasia kehidupan
bahwa gelap aku gelaplah dunia
terang aku teranglah dunia
biru aku birulah dunia
lalu aku lihat seekor monyet temanku
mengenakan kacamata hijau trendy
mungkin karena ia merindukan
hijaunya hutan monkey forest tempat tinggalnya dulu
yang kini tak hijau lagi terdesak toko toko souvenir ubud

(just an imagination)
in ubud this afternoon
as i walked home from my afternoon bath
with my friends the monkeys in the fountain in monkey forest
i stopped by at a friend of mine the street vendor
tried on some trendy colourful eyeglasses
which he was selling to tourists
at that time unconcealed to me
one of the secrets of life
that if i were dark the world would be dark
if i were bright the world would be bright
if i were blue the world would be blue
then i saw one of the monkeys
was wearing fancy green eyeglasses
maybe because it missed the lush green of the forest
which was not so green anymore surrounded by the many souvenir shops
